Pakistan’s Peaceful Nuclear Stance Highlighted by Sindh Chief Minister

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to peace as a nuclear-capable nation, in an interview with a private TV channel. Speaking from the CM House, Mr. Shah emphasized Pakistan’s peaceful intentions and criticized Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s allegations against Pakistan following the recent Pahalgam incident.

Mr. Shah paid tribute to former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto for making Pakistan a nuclear power, affirming the nation’s advocacy for peace. He criticized Mr. Modi for what he described as baseless allegations, calling the rhetoric dangerous and irresponsible. Mr. Shah remarked that no responsible nation should consider nuclear warfare.

He pointed out that after the Pahalgam incident, Pakistan offered a transparent investigation, suggesting that India is now struggling to find a diplomatic solution as its narrative collapses.

Mr. Shah praised Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts, highlighting the role of the Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in presenting a firm response to India. He noted that while India has used such tactics before, this time they have not succeeded.

Discussing the Indus Waters Treaty, Mr. Shah warned that any attempt by India to suspend the agreement would be seen as an act of war. He also acknowledged Mr. Zardari’s contributions to resolving inter-provincial water disputes, crediting him with settling these issues.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s stance, Mr. Shah stated that while the nation is peace-loving, it remains capable of defending itself. He noted that the Pakistani people consistently support the armed forces in times of crisis.

In conclusion, Mr. Shah mentioned an upcoming session of the National Assembly, where political parties are expected to display national unity.
