Pakistan’s Parliamentary Committee Vows to Internationalize Kashmir Issue

Islamabad: The Special Committee of the National Assembly on Kashmir has committed to intensifying its efforts to bring the Kashmir issue to the forefront of regional and international forums.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the committee emphasized the severe human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), particularly following the revocation of Article 370 and 35-A of the Indian Constitution. The session, chaired by Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon at the Parliament House, highlighted the urgency of addressing these issues on a global scale.

During the meeting, it was noted that local government elections in IIOJK would be superficial and not address the underlying issues. Rana Qasim reiterated Pakistan’s Parliament’s dedication to exposing the ongoing oppression by Indian forces against Kashmiris, stressing that India’s denial of the right to self-determination for Kashmiris contradicts international standards.

The committee also outlined plans to visit border areas in Azad Kashmir, including Chakothi, to further investigate and report on conditions. The participation of multiple National Assembly members underscores the national priority given to the Kashmir cause and the collective aim to seek a resolution that honors the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
