Pakistan’s National Assembly Commends Armed Forces’ Defense Efforts Against Indian Aggression

Islamabad: The National Assembly of Pakistan has unanimously passed a resolution lauding the country’s armed forces for their role in safeguarding national sovereignty amid recent tensions with India. The resolution praised the military for its professionalism, vigilance, and courage in responding to what it described as unprovoked Indian aggression.

The resolution, introduced by Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, recognized the armed forces’ restraint and their considered response to the situation. It also honored the sacrifices made by martyrs who died defending the nation, describing them as symbols of national pride and unity.

In a gesture of humility, the Assembly expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the nation’s ability to protect its territorial integrity. It also acknowledged the unity displayed by the Pakistani public and political leaders during the crisis.

The resolution extended thanks to friendly nations that supported Pakistan, emphasizing the country’s commitment to peace and dialogue. It highlighted the necessity for sincere negotiations to ensure long-term stability in South Asia.

The Assembly urged the government to engage the international community in resolving the Jammu and Kashmir issue according to UN resolutions and the desires of its people. It also stressed the importance of the Indus Water Treaty, underlining water rights as crucial to national security.

The Assembly reiterated its dedication to promoting peace and security for the region, while also passing bills on technology zones and minority rights.

In other parliamentary matters, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry announced the completion of a Household Income Expenditure Survey aimed at poverty alleviation. The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics is set to release new data by year’s end, based on pre-existing 2018-2019 statistics.

Additionally, Parliamentary Secretary for Privatization Aasia Ishaque Siddiqui updated the House on the ongoing privatization of Pakistan International Airlines, set for completion by the end of the year.

The session also saw the House offering prayers for the victims of recent violence, including those killed in Balochistan and during the Indian aggression. The prayer was led by Ali Muhammad Khan.

The National Assembly session concluded with the passage of notable bills and a reaffirmation of its constitutional role in safeguarding national interests.
