Rawalpindi: Pakistan’s top military leadership has issued a stern warning to India, pledging a decisive response to any acts of aggression. Following a Special Corps Commanders’ Conference (SCCC) at the General Headquarters, chaired by Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) released a statement affirming Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and sovereignty.
The conference focused on the escalating regional security situation, particularly expressing concern over recent incidents in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and along the Line of Control (LoC). The military leadership criticized what it described as India’s unprovoked targeting of civilians and reiterated that such actions would be met with a proportional response.
Pakistan’s military leadership accused India of destabilization efforts through state and proxy actors, emphasizing that such tactics would be confronted. The statement underscored that Pakistan’s pursuit of peace and development would not be obstructed by external aggression or coercion.
The forum also addressed India’s alleged pattern of exploiting crises for political and military advantages, referencing past incidents like the Pulwama attack and the subsequent revocation of Article 370 in IIOJK. The military leaders suggested that recent events, including the Pahalgam incident, were attempts to divert Pakistan’s focus from its economic recovery and western front.
Additionally, the military leadership condemned India’s efforts to undermine the Indus Waters Treaty, viewing it as a severe escalation that threatens Pakistan’s water rights and the livelihoods of millions. The conference also highlighted evidence of Indian involvement in orchestrating terrorist activities inside Pakistan, labeling such actions as violations of international norms.
The meeting concluded with General Munir expressing confidence in Pakistan’s military readiness and strategic capabilities to defend against any threats.
