ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecasted light to moderate rain, wind, thunderstorms, and snowfall over high mountains in the upper parts of the country on November 8th and 9th. This weather change is due to a shallow westerly wave currently affecting the western parts of Pakistan, expected to cover the upper parts by the evening or night of November 8th and continue in the northern areas until the afternoon of November 10th.
According to Pakistan Meteorological Department, regions including Quetta, Kharan, Harnai, and other areas will experience weather changes from the evening of November 6th. Islamabad, Pothohar region, and various northern areas like Chitral, Dir, Swat, and more will face rain and thunderstorms with possible hailstorms at isolated places on November 8th and 9th. Additionally, snowfall over high mountains is predicted in Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan from the evening of November 8th to the afternoon of November 10th. The Met Office also anticipates the development of fog/smog in the plains of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the coming days.
The weather changes are expected to cause a drop in day temperatures by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. The Met Office has advised farmers in barani areas to manage their crop activities accordingly and cautioned tourists and travelers visiting northern areas to remain vigilant during this period.
