Islamabad, Amid the rising tensions and violence in the Israel-Palestine region, Pakistan’s top leadership has taken a firm stance in supporting the Palestinians. Calls have been made to the international community to play a more active role in resolving the conflict in accordance with UN resolutions and international law. Additionally, large-scale rallies were held across Pakistan to show solidarity with the Palestinian cause, highlighting the nation’s long-standing commitment to advocating for a peaceful resolution to the issue.
According to a news release by the Kashmir Media Service, President Arif Alvi implored the international community to step in and prevent further escalation of the ongoing conflict. Similarly, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq emphasized the significance of resolving the Palestine issue as per the wishes of its inhabitants for lasting peace in the Middle East. He voiced Pakistan’s support for a two-state solution and stressed the need to curtail Israel’s actions.
Pakistan’s Caretaker Foreign Minister, Jalil Abbas Jilani, exhibited profound concern regarding the situation, insisting on the cessation of hostilities by Israel in Palestine. Echoing the sentiment for a peaceful solution based on the pre-1967 borders, Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch underlined Pakistan’s unwavering position on the Israel-Palestine dispute, advocating for the establishment of a sovereign State of Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital.
Prominent political figures such as Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Shehbaz Sharif, and Asif Ali Zardari also expressed their solidarity with the Palestinians and called for an end to what they termed as Israel’s “occupation and oppression.”
Recent events, including the massive rallies held across various parts of Pakistan during the ‘Palestine solidarity week,’ showcased Pakistan’s steadfast support for the Palestinian cause. Participants condemned Israel’s actions and urged the international community to shed their double standards.
