Pakistan’s Information Minister Asserts Stability Amidst Political Uncertainty

Islamabad, In the wake of recent elections that delivered a fragmented mandate, Caretaker Minister for Information, Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs Murtaza Solangi has reassured the public that the country remains stable without any disruptions. His comments come at a crucial time as political parties negotiate coalition possibilities to form the government.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during an interview with a private channel, Solangi addressed the current political climate, highlighting that no single party has gained enough seats to form a government independently. He mentioned that discussions are ongoing among political factions, with expectations to convene the National Assembly session by the 29th of this month.

Solangi also tackled the spread of misinformation, particularly by individuals abroad, concerning the role of the commissioner and efforts by some elements to sow uncertainty within the nation. He pointed out the existence of legal avenues, such as the Election Commission, where complaints regarding the electoral process can be lodged. Notably, the Commission has already suspended several results pending further investigation.

The Minister’s engagement with both local and international media was also discussed, with Solangi clarifying his open policy towards media interactions and dismissing claims of coerced interviews as false. This move underlines the government’s effort to maintain transparency and address any misconceptions about Pakistan’s political and social environment.
