Karachi: Pakistan’s information and communication technology sector has shown significant growth, with export remittances increasing by 19.7% in the first eight months of the fiscal year 2025-26. This rise highlights the ICT sector’s continued expansion and its pivotal role in the country’s economic landscape.
According to Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, the ICT export remittances reached $2.97 billion from July to February, up from $2.48 billion during the same period the previous year. February 2026 alone saw ICT exports totaling $365 million, marking a 19.3% year-on-year increase.
The ICT industry also achieved a trade surplus of $2.55 billion, which accounts for 86% of total ICT export remittances. This underscores the sector’s status as the top-performing services sector in Pakistan’s economy.
