Pakistan’s Health Ministers Call for Global Cooperation in Health Security

Islamabad, Pakistan’s Caretaker Federal Health Minister, Dr. Nadeem Jan, emphasized the crucial role of the international community in ensuring global health security at a recent workshop in Lahore.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Dr. Jan’s remarks were made at the “National Action Plan for Health Security Provincial Operational Planning Workshop.” He stressed that safeguarding humans from diseases is a shared responsibility worldwide. The workshop highlighted the need for concerted efforts in the field of health security, reflecting a growing awareness of global interconnectedness in health matters.

Caretaker Provincial Health Minister, Dr. Javed Akram, also spoke at the event, underscoring health security as a fundamental right of every citizen. He advocated for the inclusion of health security in the country’s national policy, indicating a shift towards more comprehensive and integrated health strategies.

Additionally, Dr. Jamal Nasir, the caretaker Punjab Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare, informed attendees that the government is tirelessly working to provide optimal health facilities to the people. This statement points to ongoing efforts at various governmental levels to improve health services and infrastructure in Pakistan.
