Pakistan’s Finance Minister Reaffirms Commitment to Economic Reforms at International Forums

Bangkok: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to ongoing economic reforms, aiming to transition from aid dependency to trade and investment partnerships with other nations. He emphasized this commitment during his participation in the Citi Macro Forum Session in Bangkok, Thailand, where he provided international investors with an overview of Pakistan’s economic landscape and reform priorities.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Finance Minister outlined key aspects of Pakistan’s economic strategy, highlighting sustained macroeconomic stabilization, three consecutive years of primary surpluses, and the lowest fiscal deficit in 22 years. Additionally, Aurangzeb expressed optimism about achieving or surpassing four percent economic growth in the current fiscal year.

Further engaging with investors, Aurangzeb addressed the Standard Chartered Bank’s Sovereign Investor Roundtable, held alongside the World Bank Group-IMF Annual Meetings 2026 in Bangkok.
