Islamabad: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, met with senior executives from PARCO, including the Executive Vice President for Oceania and South Asia, Mr. Mehmet Celepoglu, to discuss Pakistan’s economic performance and the impact on the business sector.
According to Press Information Department, Mr. Celepoglu praised the government’s economic measures, which he said positively influenced the business climate in Pakistan, and sought facilitation regarding sales tax refunds and documentation procedures. Minister Aurangzeb highlighted the growth in Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves and the support from multilateral institutions, including the IMF, which are anticipated to further enhance the country’s economic stability. The meeting also covered the government’s efforts to expand the tax base and improve fiscal discipline through enhanced tax-to-GDP ratio efforts and streamlined investment processes.
