Pakistan’s Finance Minister Discusses Economic Reforms and ADB Cooperation


Islamabad, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, hosted a meeting with Alternate Executive Directors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to discuss Pakistan’s economic reforms and ongoing cooperation with the ADB.



According to Press Information Department, during the meeting, Senator Aurangzeb highlighted improvements in Pakistan’s macroeconomic stability and detailed initiatives for broadening the tax base and digitalizing the tax system with assistance from McKinsey and Company. This move is expected to enhance revenue generation and increase transparency in tax collection.



The Finance Minister also touched on the government’s commitment to state-owned enterprise reforms and the privatization agenda. The ADB delegation expressed confidence in Pakistan’s economic policies and reassured their support for the country’s development objectives. The meeting underscored the productive dialogue and the ADB’s continued support in various national initiatives, reflecting a strong partnership aimed at bolstering Pakistan’s economic stability and growth.
