Pakistan’s Export Sector on the Rise, says Caretaker Commerce Minister Dr. Gohar Ejaz

Islamabad, Dr. Gohar Ejaz, Caretaker Minister for Commerce, Industries and Investment, has expressed the government’s commitment to bolstering Pakistan’s export potential and fostering an environment conducive to sustainable economic growth. He highlighted the significant increase in the country’s exports in December 2023, underscoring the government’s successful efforts in this direction.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Dr. Ejaz, in a recent statement, reported that exports in December 2023 surged by 22.2%, reaching 2.812 billion dollars. This marks a notable recovery and upward trend in Pakistan’s export sector, achieving an impressive figure of 2.8 billion dollars in December 2023.

The Minister attributed these positive developments to the government’s ongoing efforts and the resilience of Pakistani businesses. He emphasized that these accomplishments reflect the government’s successful strategies and the strong performance of the country’s industrial and commercial sectors.

Dr. Ejaz also expressed confidence in Pakistan’s ability to achieve its target of reaching 3 billion dollars per month in exports soon. This optimism is based on the implementation of the new Industry Policy under the Special Incentive Framework for Capitalization (SIFC). The policy is expected to further stimulate growth and expansion in various sectors, contributing to the country’s overall economic development.
