Brussels, The Embassy of Pakistan in Brussels conducted a virtual briefing session for Pakistani missions in European member states, focusing on the evolving landscape of trade relations.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the briefing session covered a range of crucial trade and commercial topics. These included mechanisms and developments aimed at enhancing the scope of the Generalized System of Preferences Plus (GSP+) scheme and the extension of the GSP Regulation by the European Parliament.
The session saw participation from representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Commerce, the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), and all Pakistani diplomatic missions based in Europe. Ambassador Amna Baloch, representing Pakistan to the European Union, Belgium, and Luxembourg, provided an overview of the trade and development relations to aid the participants’ understanding.
Ambassador Baloch emphasized the need for closer coordination among Pakistan’s diplomatic missions in the EU. She advocated for a unified approach in addressing trade issues and exploring prospects, highlighting the importance of collective efforts in enhancing Pakistan’s trade relations with European states.
