Pakistan’s Economic Revival: Prime Minister Announces Stability and Growth


Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday announced that Pakistan has achieved economic stability, marking a significant turnaround in the nation’s recent economic challenges. Speaking to Overseas Pakistanis at the Pakistan High Commission, the Prime Minister emphasized the country’s progress across economic, diplomatic, and military domains, attributing these achievements to the hard work and unity of the government.



Sharif highlighted the difficult phase Pakistan’s economy had endured in the past but assured that the nation is now on a path to growth. He credited the collective efforts and sincerity of the government and its team for overcoming previous hurdles. The Prime Minister underscored Pakistan’s enhanced status and respect on the global stage, following its victory in defeating its adversaries.



In his address to the United Nations General Assembly, Sharif represented Pakistan’s interests, voicing concerns over the Kashmir and Palestine issues. He expressed hope for Kashmir’s eventual freedom and condemned the unprecedented oppression faced by the people of Gaza.



The Prime Minister noted a productive meeting with US President Donald Trump, which he believes will lay the groundwork for improved bilateral relations. Overseas Pakistanis were praised as vital assets, serving their homeland with dedication.



Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar echoed Sharif’s sentiments, highlighting the Prime Minister’s effective representation of Pakistan at the UN General Assembly. Dar mentioned that discussions with President Trump, involving eight countries, focused on Gaza and may yield positive results. He also praised the Prime Minister’s efforts in preventing an economic default since assuming office in April 2022, noting a significant improvement in economic indicators.



Dar reported a reduction in interest rates and inflation, predicting this will lead to poverty alleviation and increased per capita income. The global community’s recognition of Pakistan’s progress was acknowledged, with hopes for continued development.



Overseas Pakistanis lauded the Prime Minister for his impactful UN address, particularly for spotlighting the Kashmir issue. They expressed pride in his representation of Pakistan on the international stage, noting that his speech was among the most attended at the assembly.



The Prime Minister concluded his visit by recording his thoughts in the guest book at the Pakistan High Commission, marking a memorable engagement with the diaspora.
