Pakistan’s Economic Prospects Improve, Says Finance Minister

AlUla: Pakistan’s economy is on the right trajectory due to the current government’s fiscal management strategies, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb stated during a panel discussion at the AlUla Conference for Emerging Market Economies in Saudi Arabia.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Finance Minister expressed optimism about the economic direction of Pakistan, attributing the progress to strategic fiscal policies. The panel discussion was moderated by Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund.

Minister Aurangzeb highlighted the government’s commitment to implementing challenging policy decisions aimed at ensuring long-term economic stability. He identified key focus areas including taxation reforms, energy sector improvements, and initiatives to enhance exports as essential for economic stabilization and growth.

Furthermore, Aurangzeb noted a transformative shift in Pakistan’s economic strategy towards an export-led growth model. This pivot, he stated, will not only bolster Pakistan’s position in the global economy but also guarantee more resilient and varied growth in the future.
