Unprecedented National Fervor Marks Independence Day Celebrations
Islamabad: Barrister Danyal Chaudhry, Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, declared that this year’s Independence Day celebrations witnessed unparalleled patriotic zeal and excitement throughout the country. Speaking at a “Marka-e-Haq” (Battle for Truth) themed event at Viqar-un-Nisa College in Rawalpindi, he noted the exceptional display of national unity.
The gathering included a substantial number of students, faculty, and prominent individuals such as Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Dr. Hasan Waqar Cheema, Member National Assembly Tahira Aurangzeb, and other political and community leaders. Chaudhry emphasized that August 14th consistently serves as a unifying force for the nation and will continue to be observed with concord and togetherness. He highlighted the historical significance of Radio Pakistan, an entity under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in broadcasting the birth of the “Islamic Republic of Pakistan” to the world.
Praising the Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Chaudhry stated that Jinnah, without employing a “Jail Bharo Tehreek” (Fill-the-Jails Movement), unified the subcontinent’s Muslims through determination, sagacity, and foresight. He described this as the hallmark of genuine leadership—individuals who shape the fate of nations.
Chaudhry addressed the youth, underscoring that leadership and principles are inherited across generations, leaving the nation’s future direction in the hands of students. He expressed optimism that the younger generation, through collaboration and resolve, would conquer societal negativity and steer Pakistan towards advancement and affluence.
He reminded attendees of the significant sacrifices made to achieve Pakistan’s independence, emphasizing the collective duty of citizens, students, and the Armed Forces to protect it. The festivities included a cake-cutting ceremony, student orations, and cultural performances commemorating independence, enriching the event with color and liveliness. Concluding his speech, the Parliamentary Secretary voiced enthusiastic pro-Pakistan chants and expressed gratitude to the attendees for their spirited participation.
