Pakistan’s Defense Day Marked with Commemoration Ceremony in Tehran


Tehran: The Embassy of Pakistan in Tehran hosted a ceremony today at Pakistan House to celebrate Pakistan’s Defense Day, commemorating the valor and sacrifices of Pakistani soldiers in defending the nation’s sovereignty. The event was attended by over two hundred participants, including high-ranking officials from the diplomatic community, businessmen, and expatriates residing in Tehran.



According to Press Information Department, Ambassador Muhammad Mudassir Tipu expressed gratitude to Brig. Gen. Muhammad Ahadi, Chief of Defence Diplomacy and International Relations, for attending as the chief guest, noting that his presence underscored the strengthening bilateral relations between Iran and Pakistan. “We have turned a new leaf in our relationship since the beginning of this year,” Ambassador Tipu remarked, highlighting the concerted efforts by both nations’ political, military, and security leaderships to enhance their ties significantly.



During the ceremony, Defense and Army Attaché Brig. Muhammad Obaid Khan spoke on the historical importance of September 6, recalling the unity and bravery displayed by Pakistani forces during a crucial confrontation with a numerically superior adversary. He also touched on the ongoing struggles of the people in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing their long-standing grievances.



Brig. Gen. Muhammad Ahadi, representing the Iranian armed forces, conveyed congratulations to Pakistan on its Defense Day and spoke about the collaborative security efforts on the Iran-Pakistan border. “Effective and serious steps have been taken to establish security on both sides of our common border, transforming it into a border of friendship and prosperity,” he stated.



The ceremony also included readings of messages from the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, reinforcing the national significance of the day. Guests enjoyed traditional Pakistani cuisine, adding a cultural dimension to the commemorative event.
