Pakistan’s Caretaker PM Calls for UN-Brokered Plebiscite for Kashmir Resolution

Islamabad, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, during his visit to Muzaffarabad on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, has emphasized the need for a UN-brokered plebiscite as the only just solution to the Kashmir dispute, aligning with United Nations Security Council resolutions.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prime Minister Kakar made this assertion in a meeting with Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwaar-ul-Haq and Speaker of the AJK Legislative Assembly Chaudhry Latif Akbar. He expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri people in their struggle for self-determination and condemned the atrocities committed in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He also criticized the international community’s silence on these issues as alarming and condemnable.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister pledged that Pakistan would persist in extending moral, political, and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people until they achieve their right to self-determination. The visit of Prime Minister Kakar to Muzaffarabad on this significant day was welcomed by the AJK leadership, who viewed it as a strong symbol of the shared sentiments and unity between the people of Pakistan and Kashmir.

This statement by the Pakistani Prime Minister underscores the ongoing commitment of Pakistan to the Kashmiri cause and highlights the perceived need for international intervention to resolve the long-standing dispute.
