Islamabad, Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Murtaza Solangi, has affirmed the government’s commitment to conducting free, fair, and transparent elections in Pakistan. These remarks were made during a meeting with Caretaker Interior Minister Gohar Ijaz in Islamabad on Thursday.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Gohar Ijaz expressed satisfaction over the coordination between federal and provincial governments in strengthening security arrangements for the upcoming elections. He called on all political parties to support the caretaker government in maintaining law and order during the polls, scheduled for the 8th of next month.
The meeting also addressed the vital role of media in the general elections. Minister Solangi emphasized the media’s responsibility to adhere to the electoral code of conduct, highlighting its significant role in ensuring the transparency and impartiality of the polls. He stressed the importance of avoiding propaganda and provocation during this critical period.
In addition, Murtaza Solangi congratulated Gohar Ijaz on his appointment as the Interior Minister, underscoring the collaborative efforts of the caretaker government to facilitate a smooth electoral process.
