Islamabad, Ambassador Masood Khan has affirmed Pakistan’s continued support for the Iqra Fund’s mission to enhance educational opportunities in Northern Pakistan. This pledge came during a discussion with Genevieve Walsh, CEO and Co-Founder of Iqra Fund, at the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington DC.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ambassador Khan lauded Walsh’s efforts as emblematic of the strong bilateral ties between Pakistan and the United States, particularly in advancing educational projects. Walsh detailed the achievements of Iqra Fund, which include the establishment of 20 village schools and the integration of 234 local women into the educational workforce.
The initiative has significantly impacted local communities by enrolling over 4,000 students, including support for differently-abled children, and implementing crucial infrastructure developments. Walsh reiterated the fund’s commitment to fostering educational growth and community empowerment in Northern Pakistan, particularly among young girls.
