Islamabad, Ambassador Masood Khan, representing Pakistan in the United States, has emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to fostering interfaith harmony and religious tolerance. He addressed these themes during a special event at the Pakistani Embassy in the U.S., which joined the Christian community in their Christmas celebrations.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ambassador Khan spoke about the inclusive nature of Pakistani society, highlighting the significant contributions of the Christian community to the country’s development. He noted their growing influence and integral role in various sectors, including the judiciary, civil service, armed forces, parliament, and education.
The event, attended by religious leaders from Muslim, Christian, Sikh, and Hindu communities, underscored Pakistan’s efforts to promote respect and harmony among different faiths. It showcased the nation’s dedication to embracing diversity and ensuring an inclusive environment for all religious groups.
Addressing a recent tragic incident in Jaranwala, Pakistan, Ambassador Khan expressed the nation’s shock and outrage. He stressed the urgency of developing a national plan to prevent the misuse of certain laws, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to this cause.
The gathering also featured speeches by prominent religious and community leaders, including Pastor Michael Trivett, Dr. Joe Knight from the Church of the Nazarene Michigan, Mr. Rizwan Jaka, Chair of the Board at ADAMS & Compassionate Healthcare Network Clinic (ACHN), Ms. Aisha Khan, a Democrat Party Leader from Maryland, Ms. Srilekha Reddy, a Republican Party leader from Virginia, Dr. Surinder P.
