Pakistan’s Ambassador Calls for Resolution of Kashmir Dispute at NAM Summit

Kampala, Syed Haider Shah, Pakistan’s Additional Foreign Secretary for the United Nations, has emphasized the need for a swift resolution to the Kashmir dispute, aligning with United Nations resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Ambassador Syed Haider Shah expressed these views while delivering Pakistan’s national statement at the 19th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit in Kampala, Uganda. He reiterated Pakistan’s strong commitment to the NAM’s foundational principles and extended support for the Movement’s endeavors in promoting peace, equality, cooperation, and well-being globally.

During his address, Ambassador Shah highlighted the importance of international collaboration in addressing multifaceted global challenges. He stressed the urgency of reforming the international financial, trade, and technology systems to ensure equitable and sustainable socio-economic development, particularly in developing countries.

Ambassador Haider Shah represented Pakistan at the NAM Summit, stepping in after Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani had to curtail his official visit due to recent developments.
