Pakistan’s Agricultural Exports See Growth with First Honey Shipment to Malaysia

Islamabad: The Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) is boosting Pakistan’s agricultural exports, as evidenced by the first shipment of berry honey from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reaching Malaysia. This development marks a significant step for Pakistan in the global honey market.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Pakistan High Commission in Kuala Lumpur has been instrumental in connecting Pakistani and Malaysian companies, facilitating this export milestone. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with its annual honey production of twenty thousand tons, is positioning Pakistan as a reliable honey supplier worldwide. The province’s industry comprises sixty thousand beekeeping farms, providing jobs to 1.6 million individuals.

In a bid to further enhance honey exports, there is a proposal under consideration to establish a Honey Board in Pakistan.
