Tashkent: A delegation of Pakistani Senators, led by Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Senator Irfan Siddiqui, visited the Uzbek Senate Secretariat, deepening diplomatic and strategic ties between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the visit, which occurred on the invitation of the Uzbek Election Commission, saw the Senators serving as International Elections Observers. The discussions focused on reinforcing the bilateral relations between the two nations, with the Uzbek Senate expressing admiration for Pakistan’s democratic processes and the existing robust strategic ties.
The dialogue also explored avenues for future cooperation, such as exchanges through parliamentary friendship groups. Senator Siddiqui highlighted Pakistan’s support for significant regional infrastructure projects, including the trans-Afghan railway and Gwadar port initiatives. Moreover, he extended an invitation to Uzbek senators to visit Pakistan, aiming to foster stronger bilateral relations and promote mutual cooperation.
