Islamabad: The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, traveled to Qatar to express solidarity with the Qatari leadership and people following a recent Israeli attack on Doha. The visit underscored the strong ties between the two nations as Prime Minister Sharif conveyed Pakistan’s condemnation of the assault, calling it a violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and international law.
In a meeting marked by cordiality, Prime Minister Sharif met with the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, expressing deep concern over the attack, which occurred on September 9. He assured the Qatari leadership of Pakistan’s unwavering support and solidarity during this challenging period.
Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the historical bonds between Pakistan and Qatar, emphasizing that the two countries have consistently stood together in times of need. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to supporting Qatar against the Israeli provocation and conveyed condolences for the lives lost and wishes for the recovery of the injured.
The Pakistani leader criticized Israel’s actions in the Middle East, calling for unity among Islamic nations in response to such provocations. He praised Qatar’s mediatory efforts in Gaza and stressed that Israeli aggression threatened regional stability.
In an international diplomatic move, Pakistan has requested an emergency UN Security Council session to address the Middle East situation. Additionally, Prime Minister Sharif welcomed Qatar’s initiative to host an Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit and expressed Pakistan’s willingness to co-sponsor the event.
Both leaders agreed to continue collaborating on regional peace initiatives, support for international law, and advocacy for Palestinian rights. The visit further cemented the brotherly relationship between Pakistan and Qatar, highlighting their shared commitment to regional peace and stability.
