Islamabad, Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has reaffirmed the Pakistani government’s commitment to reform efforts in agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), aiming to stabilize the country’s economy. This commitment was expressed during a meeting with IMF Mission Chief Nathan Porter and IMF Resident Representative for Pakistan Esther Perez Tuiz in Islamabad.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the IMF representatives updated the Prime Minister on the status of technical level negotiations under the First Review of the Stand-By Agreement with Pakistan. Nathan Porter acknowledged the Pakistani government’s progress in meeting quarterly program targets, leading to a positive conclusion of the talks. He also appreciated the roles of the Finance Minister, the Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), and their teams in these discussions. Prime Minister Kakar thanked the IMF team for their ongoing collaboration and highlighted the efforts of his finance team in advancing the agreed-upon program.
