Pakistani Prime Minister Meets Iran’s Supreme Leader to Offer Condolences

Islamabad, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif traveled to Iran to attend the funeral of the Iranian President Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, both victims of a recent tragic helicopter accident. During his visit, the Prime Minister met with Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, to express condolences and discuss the continuation of strong bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iran.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prime Minister Sharif praised the late President Raisi’s leadership and his efforts towards uniting the Muslim Ummah and supporting the people of Gaza, noting these contributions as historically significant. He also acknowledged the late Foreign Minister’s role in regional peace efforts. The visit underscored Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining and strengthening the bonds of friendship with Iran, highlighting the mutual desire to foster peace and cooperation between the two nations.
