Pakistani President Mourns Passing of Former Chinese Premier Li Keqiang

Islamabad, President Dr. Arif Alvi expressed profound sorrow over the passing of former Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, lauding his pivotal role in fostering Pak-China economic and strategic ties.

According to a news release by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Dr. Alvi reflected on the strong bond he shared with the late Premier. He reminisced about his solidarity visit to China in March 2020, during which he had the privilege to meet Premier Li at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The President emphasized that he always perceived Li Keqiang as a genuine friend of Pakistan, noting the late Premier’s determination to solidify the “All-Weather Friendship” between the two nations. Dr. Alvi commended Li Keqiang’s visionary leadership, which significantly contributed to the strengthening of bilateral ties.

Offering condolences, President Dr. Arif Alvi conveyed the sentiments of sorrow and sympathy on behalf of the Pakistani people to the family of the departed leader, the citizens of China, and its leadership during this period of mourning.
