Islamabad: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that Pakistani citizens are facing significant challenges after India revoked their visas, leaving many stranded at the Attari border. The spokesperson highlighted the humanitarian issues arising from this decision, noting that patients with critical health conditions were forced to return to Pakistan without completing their medical treatment. Additionally, reports have emerged of families being separated, with children split from one of their parents.
The Ministry acknowledged media reports indicating that some Pakistani nationals remain stranded at the Attari border. The spokesperson reiterated that the Wagha border crossing is open and ready to receive Pakistani citizens, should Indian authorities permit them to cross.
The Ministry assured that the Wagha border would remain accessible for Pakistani citizens wishing to return home in the future.
