Islamabad: Pakistani diplomatic missions across the globe commemorated the nation’s 79th Independence Day with spirited celebrations. From Paris to Manama and Delhi, embassies and high commissions organized events showcasing national pride and heritage.
In Paris, Ambassador Mumtaz Zahra Baloch led the flag hoisting ceremony, accompanied by members of the Pakistani community, embassy personnel, and families. The event featured patriotic songs, a documentary screening, and traditional cuisine.
The Pakistani embassy in Manama, Bahrain, also witnessed a large gathering of expatriates for a vibrant Independence Day program. Following the flag hoisting, attendees viewed a documentary on the Marka-e-Haq campaign. A photo exhibition showcasing equipment used in Operation Bunyan un Marsoos, including aircraft, missiles, and cyber security technology, highlighted Pakistan’s resolve during the operation.
In Delhi, the Pakistani High Commission held a ceremony where Charge d’Affaires Saad Ahmed Warraich raised the national flag. Messages from the President and Prime Minister were read, and a cake-cutting ceremony took place. Children in traditional clothing performed, depicting scenes from the freedom movement. Leading Bahraini newspapers also published special supplements to mark Pakistan’s Independence Day. All the diplomatic missions read out the messages of President and Prime Minister on the momentous occasion.
