Islamabad: Pakistan’s top political figures, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, have expressed their condolences following the death of US Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, who played a pivotal role in fostering US-Pakistan relations.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Zardari described Congresswoman Jackson Lee as a remarkable leader who was dedicated to advocating for human rights, especially concerning women and children. Prime Minister Sharif, through a message on his X handle, remembered her as a champion of stronger ties between Pakistan and the United States, noting that her contributions would be greatly missed and remembered for years to come.
The two leaders extended their deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Congresswoman Jackson Lee, recognizing her significant impact on international diplomacy and human rights.
