Pakistani Leaders and Military Express Unwavering Support for Kashmir on Youm-e-Istehsal

Islamabad: On the occasion of Youm-e-Istehsal, marking the anniversary of India’s actions on August 5, 2019, concerning Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), key Pakistani figures including President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and military chiefs have reiterated their strong support for the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Zardari emphasized the violation of international laws and the disregard for the aspirations of the Kashmiri people by India since August 2019. He highlighted the need for international pressure on India to adhere to UN Security Council resolutions and cease its human rights abuses in Kashmir.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif echoed this sentiment, asserting Pakistan’s ongoing moral, political, and diplomatic backing for the Kashmiris. He stressed the importance of transitioning from dispute denial to active dispute resolution for the sake of peace and security in South Asia.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar also underscored Pakistan’s commitment to support the Kashmiris, aiming for the full realization of their legitimate rights. Additionally, on Youm-e-Istehsal, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, along with Services Chiefs and the Pakistan Armed Forces, paid homage to the martyrs of IIOJK. They confirmed their steadfast commitment to the Kashmiri cause on political, moral, and humanitarian grounds.
