Islamabad: In a session of the National Assembly marked by unity and resolve, Pakistani lawmakers voiced strong support for the nation’s armed forces while condemning what they described as provocative actions by India. He commended the Pakistani armed forces, particularly the air force, for their decisive response, asserting that the nation stands united with its military and government in defense of the country.
From the floor, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Barrister Gohar Ali Khan reiterated the nation’s unity against foreign aggression, highlighting the downing of the Indian jets as evidence of Pakistan’s defensive resolve. He also welcomed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s call for dialogue.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) leader Moulana Ghafoor Haideri praised the military’s swift response and assured support from his party and its members in border areas, expressing readiness for any necessary action.
Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace while declaring the country’s readiness to defend itself if conflict is imposed.
Zartaj Gul accused India of frequently blaming Pakistan for internal incidents, asserting the unity of the Pakistani people against external threats.
