Islamabad, September 07, 2022 (PPI-OT):Pakistani High Commissioner to Canada Zaheer Janjua has stressed to address the immediate needs that the flooding has caused in Pakistan. In an interview with Canadian twice-weekly newspaper “The Hill Times”, he also emphasized on assisting Pakistan in longer term rehabilitation and rebuilding.
He said the initial estimates show that repairing damage will cost more than ten billion dollars but noted a full assessment will only be possible when the flooding starts to recede. He said Pakistan alone cannot fulfil this task. He urged the international community to come forward and support Pakistan.
