Lahore, Caretaker Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Murtaza Solangi, announced the government’s dedicated efforts to provide basic facilities to the journalist community in Pakistan. This commitment was highlighted during a cheque distribution ceremony held in Lahore.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Solangi emphasized the crucial role of journalists in society and acknowledged press clubs as foundational to press freedom. He informed attendees that the caretaker Punjab Chief Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, approved a substantial grant of 90.45 million rupees for the development and welfare of press clubs, signaling a strong support for the journalist community.
Mohsin Naqvi, speaking at the event, reiterated that facilitating journalists remains a top priority for the government. He called upon the journalist community to uphold professional standards in their work.
Caretaker Punjab Minister for Information, Aamir Mir, also spoke on the occasion, highlighting that the special grants would be used to modernize press clubs. This move is seen as a step towards enhancing the working conditions and resources available to journalists, further empowering them in their vital role of reporting and informing the public.
