Pakistani Forces Repel Assault on Border, Inflict Heavy Casualties on Taliban

Islamabad: In a significant military engagement along the Pak-Afghan border, Pakistani forces successfully repelled an unprovoked attack by Afghan Taliban and the Indian-backed group, Fitna al Khawarij, on the night of October 11-12, 2025. The operation resulted in substantial casualties among the attacking forces, while Pakistani armed forces sustained their defensive positions with notable losses.

The coordinated assault involved both fire and physical raids, reportedly aimed at destabilizing border areas to facilitate terrorist activities. Responding to the attack, Pakistan’s armed forces launched precision strikes and physical raids against Taliban camps and terrorist networks operating from Afghan territory.

The Pakistani military reported the destruction of multiple Taliban locations along the border, with 21 hostile positions briefly captured on the Afghan side. The attack resulted in the deaths of 23 Pakistani soldiers and injuries to 29 others. Intelligence assessments indicate that more than 200 Taliban and affiliated terrorists were neutralized, with the number of wounded believed to be significantly higher.

The Pakistani military emphasized its commitment to safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity and called upon the Taliban government to take concrete actions against terrorist groups operating from Afghan soil. The statement highlighted ongoing concerns about the use of Afghan territory for terrorism against Pakistan, particularly in light of the Taliban foreign minister’s visit to India.

The Pakistani government reiterated its preference for diplomacy but affirmed its readiness to continue defensive actions to protect national security. The military’s response underscores its resolve to address threats emanating from across the border and to hold accountable those facilitating terrorist activities.
