Paris: The Pakistan Embassy in Paris commemorated the nation’s 79th Independence Day with a flag-raising ceremony. Ambassador Mumtaz Zahra Baloch hoisted the national flag, accompanied by the national anthem, in the presence of community members, embassy personnel, and Pakistani families.
Messages from Pakistan’s President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister were read aloud. The celebration featured patriotic songs and a documentary, followed by traditional Pakistani cuisine.
In her address, Ambassador Baloch acknowledged the contributions of those involved in the Pakistan Movement, led by Quaid-i-Azam, and honored those who sacrificed their lives for the nation. She recognized the contributions of educators, laborers, farmers, scientists, and businesspeople to Pakistan’s advancement. Furthermore, she expressed support for the people of Kashmir’s pursuit of freedom.
Ambassador Baloch praised the Pakistani armed forces’ bravery and professionalism in Marka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos against what she termed Indian aggression. She stated that this victory has instilled renewed national pride and hope and demonstrated Pakistan’s resolve to protect its sovereignty.
The ambassador also commended the Pakistani community in France for their dedication to Pakistan and their significant role in fostering Pakistan-France relations.
