Pakistani Energy Minister Attends Global Mining Conference in Sydney


Sydney: Honourable Ali Pervaiz Malik, Pakistan’s Minister for Energy (Petroleum Division), has arrived in Sydney to represent his government at the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC 2025). The conference is scheduled to take place from October 21 to October 23. The minister was welcomed by High Commissioner Irfan Shaukat and other senior officials.



During the conference, Mr. Malik will deliver a keynote address focusing on “Pakistan’s Energy Transition and Critical Minerals Development: Unlocking New Frontiers for Global Partnership.” His participation highlights Pakistan’s efforts to engage with international partners in the exploration and mining of critical minerals, energy transition, and sustainable development.



In addition to his address, Mr. Malik is set to engage in a series of bilateral meetings with other ministers, senior Australian government officials, and leaders from the global industry. These discussions aim to bolster cooperation in the aforementioned sectors.



The minister’s visit also includes meetings with members of the business community and the Pakistani diaspora. He plans to inform them about Pakistan’s initiatives designed to attract investment and support for overseas Pakistanis.



This visit reflects Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening energy partnerships, achieving climate objectives, and drawing responsible investment into its mineral value chain.
