Pakistani Consulate in Houston Observes Kashmir Solidarity Day


Houston: The Pakistani Consulate in Houston hosted an event on Kashmir Solidarity Day to express support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). The gathering highlighted ongoing concerns surrounding the region’s political situation.



According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, the event was attended by several notable figures, including Vice Consul General Ashar Shehzad, Sikh community leader Hardam Azad Singh, and Friends of Kashmir Chairperson Ghazala Habib. Other attendees included social activists Dr. Asif Qadeer, Ashraf Bashir, and Tahir Bhatti.



Messages from Pakistan’s President and Prime Minister were read during the event, reaffirming Pakistan’s support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.



During the gathering, Ghazala Habib criticized India’s actions in IIOJK, describing the region as a place of fear due to restrictive laws and policies. Vice Consul General Ashar Shehzad emphasized the significance of Kashmir Solidarity Day in reminding the international community of its commitments to the Kashmiris.



Sikh leader Hardam Azad Singh expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri struggle, promising continued support in their pursuit of freedom.



Dr. Asif Qadeer encouraged the Pakistani and Kashmiri diaspora to raise awareness about the Kashmir issue actively.



Other speakers, including Ashraf Bashir and Tahir Bhatti, voiced their concerns over India’s actions in Kashmir and pledged their continued advocacy for the Kashmiri cause.
