Pakistani Business Confidence Soars To Four-Year High

Islamabad: Pakistani business confidence has surged to its highest point in four years, according to the latest Gallup Business Confidence Index. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the findings on Monday, describing them as “highly encouraging.” The economic direction score has risen to -2, its best level since the final quarter of 2021.

The Prime Minister attributed this positive trend to the government’s reform initiatives, which have fostered greater transparency and eased business operations. He specifically cited institutional improvements, the digitization of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), and restructuring within the energy sector as key drivers for expanded trade and investment opportunities.

Improved macroeconomic figures, upgraded international credit ratings for Pakistan, and a reduction in corruption were also highlighted as evidence of the administration’s effective economic strategies. Sharif emphasized that these gains are beginning to benefit ordinary citizens. He reaffirmed the government’s dedication to further enhancing institutional effectiveness.

The Prime Minister also acknowledged the Pakistan Stock Exchange’s recent achievement, with the KSE-100 Index exceeding a record 147,000 points. He commended Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and his team for their efforts. He pledged continued engagement with the business sector to further support investors and business owners.
