Amman: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, met with King Abdullah II of Jordan to discuss enhancing bilateral defense and security cooperation during his official visit to the Hashemite Kingdom. Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II was also present at the meeting.
The discussions focused on mutual interests, emphasizing the need to deepen ties in defense and security and to exchange insights on regional developments. Field Marshal Munir conveyed the greetings of the Pakistani government and armed forces, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening the fraternal relationship with Jordan.
King Abdullah II praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and expressed a keen interest in furthering defense collaboration between the two nations, acknowledging Pakistan’s role in promoting regional peace and stability.
Earlier, Field Marshal Munir met with Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Huneiti, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordan Armed Forces, at the General Headquarters in Amman. The Pakistani army chief was received with a Guard of Honour, marking the significance of the visit.
Both military leaders reiterated the historic ties between their armed forces and commended each other’s contributions to regional security. Major General Al-Huneiti highlighted Pakistan’s efforts in maintaining peace across the region, underscoring the enduring partnership between the two countries.
