Pakistani and Turkish Officials Seek to Strengthen Bilateral Ties and Address Regional Challenges


Islamabad, Pakistani Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met at Parliament House to discuss enhancing bilateral and multilateral cooperation between their countries. The meeting highlighted shared visions for regional development and explored ways to deepen the partnership across various sectors.



According to Senate of Pakistan, discussions during the meeting centered on expanding economic ties, cultural exchanges, and addressing mutual international concerns such as the situation in Gaza. Chairman Gilani emphasized the longstanding fraternal relations between Pakistan and Turkey, rooted in shared religious and cultural values, and praised Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s leadership on global Islamic issues.



The meeting also addressed the urgent need for peace in the Middle East, with both leaders condemning the violence in Gaza. They expressed a commitment to work together to support international efforts for a peaceful resolution in the region. Foreign Minister Fidan reiterated Turkey’s dedication to elevating its relations with Pakistan, emphasizing the importance of parliamentary exchanges and people-to-people contacts.
