Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif engaged in a telephone conversation with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, focusing on diplomatic efforts for peace in the Gulf region. The two leaders exchanged greetings and emphasized their commitment to regional stability.

According to Press Information Department, Prime Minister Sharif conveyed his appreciation for Qatar’s support for Pakistan’s peace initiatives during the Gulf crisis. He mentioned that a peace agreement was close to being finalized. The Qatari Prime Minister acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts, praising Prime Minister Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their roles in the diplomatic process. He reiterated Qatar’s support for Pakistan’s endeavors in achieving lasting peace in the region.

The discussion also included an invitation from Prime Minister Sharif to the Amir of Qatar for an official visit to Pakistan, which had been previously agreed upon by the two leaders. Both parties committed to maintaining close communication in the forthcoming days.
