Pakistani and Bangladeshi Military Leaders Discuss Enhanced Cooperation


Dhaka: General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of Pakistan, met with General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Chief of Army Staff of Bangladesh, during an official visit to Dhaka. The meeting focused on expanding military cooperation between the two nations.



Both leaders acknowledged the positive trajectory of defense relations and agreed to continue regular exchanges between military leaders. They discussed the global and regional security landscape, emphasizing the importance of strengthening bilateral military ties.



The talks included discussions on training, joint exercises, and sharing counter-terrorism experiences. Both sides identified disinformation campaigns as a shared challenge and agreed on the need for enhanced cooperation to address these threats.



The visit underscores a commitment to deepening the defense partnership between Pakistan and Bangladesh, with both countries aiming to bolster security and strategic collaboration.
