Pakistani-American NYPD Officers Visit Lahore Central Police Office

Lahore, A delegation from the Pakistan American Law Enforcement Society (PALS), comprising 24 Pakistani-origin officers from the New York Police Department, visited the Central Police Office in Lahore. The visit highlighted the strong connections between Pakistani and American law enforcement communities and discussed opportunities for bilateral cooperation and training.

According to Punjab Police, the American delegation was briefed on the operational procedures, specialized forces, and modern initiatives of the Punjab Police by Additional IG Establishment Punjab Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry. The meeting covered topics such as community policing projects and ongoing operations against terrorism, underscoring the Punjab Police’s role as one of the largest police forces globally facing multifaceted challenges including terrorism and extremism.

Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry noted the valuable expertise Pakistani officers have gained from American institutions and emphasized the potential for further cooperation in areas like modern training and crime control. Rohail Ahmad Khalid, President of PALS, shared insights on the increasing number of Pakistani-origin officers in the US police force, expressing satisfaction with their growing presence and contributions, particularly highlighted by the recent Pakistan Culture Month celebrated within the American police force.

The delegation extended a formal invitation to Punjab Police officers to participate in the Pakistan Heritage Month in New York, signaling continued cultural and professional exchange between the two forces. The meeting concluded with the exchange of traditional shields and souvenirs, reinforcing the warm relationship between the two policing communities.
