WASHINGTON D.C., Dr. Talat Jehan Khan, a Pakistani-American pediatrician, was tragically stabbed to death in Conroe, a city located just north of Houston. Ambassador Masood Khan has voiced his condemnation of the brutal act, offering his deepest sympathies to the mourning family.
According to Press Information Department, Dr. Khan migrated to the United States from Karachi in the late 90s and had been practicing medicine for an extended period after specializing in Pediatrics. The police have since apprehended the alleged assailant, who is currently under investigation. The Embassy of Pakistan in Washington DC and the Consulate General in Houston are actively gathering information regarding the incident from both the grieving family and relevant authorities.
Ambassador Masood Khan described the event as a “shocking” and “senseless act of violence.” He highlighted Dr. Khan’s commitment to her medical profession and her esteemed standing within the Pakistani-American community. “We share the grief of the bereaved family and offer prayers for the eternal peace of the departed soul,” he stated.
In addition to expressing condolences to the entire Pakistani-American community, Ambassador Khan reached out to Dr. Arshad Rehan, the President of the Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America (APPNA), conveying his profound sense of sorrow and shock. Emphasizing the need for a prompt investigation, the Ambassador said, “We hope for a swift inquiry into this crime by law enforcement agencies to deliver justice as soon as possible.”
Assuring his full support, Ambassador Khan personally communicated to the family that they can rely on the Embassy of Pakistan and the Consulate in Houston for any required assistance in performing the last rites for Dr. Khan. The Consul General of Pakistan in Houston is set to attend the funeral scheduled for tomorrow.
