Pakistan will continue providing all-out assistance to Afghanistan in education sector: President 

Islamabad, December 16, 2021 (PPI-OT):President Dr Arif Alvi says Pakistan will keep providing all-out assistance to Afghanistan for the development of its education sector. Talking to Afghan Minister for Higher Education Abdul Baqi Haqqani in Islamabad, he urged the international community to provide humanitarian aid to Afghanistan as it is passing through a very difficult phase.

The President said Allama Iqbal Open University and Virtual University of Pakistan would assist Afghan universities in their digital transformation and provide online education to their students. The Afghan Minister for Higher Education thanked Pakistan for its role in promoting education in Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, Minister for Education Shafqat Mehmood says Pakistan will continue it support to current Afghan government for development of the neighbouring country. Talking to a five-member delegation led by Minister of Higher Education Afghanistan Abdul Baqi Haqqani in Islamabad, the Minister said Prime Minister Imran Khan has repeatedly emphasized that we would support the present Afghan government in the development of Afghanistan in every possible way.

Shafqat Mahmood said the number of higher education scholarships for Afghan students have been increased to 4500. Afghan Education Minister thanked Shafqat Mehmood saying Afghanistan needs Pakistan’s support at every step in the reconstruction and development of Afghanistan.
