Pakistan Vows Continued Support for Kashmiris’ Self-Determination Struggle

Islamabad: Pakistan will persist in providing political, diplomatic, and moral backing to Kashmiris in their quest for self-determination, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated. The leaders emphasized this commitment as Kashmiris worldwide marked the seventy-sixth anniversary of the United Nations Commission for India and Pakistan Resolution, which promises a free and fair plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Zardari criticized India’s prolonged denial of self-determination to the residents of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting the ongoing oppression and systemic violence they face. Prime Minister Sharif urged the international community, particularly the United Nations, to fulfill their commitments and take decisive actions to address the situation.

The statements from Pakistan’s leadership underscore the country’s continued stance on the Kashmir issue, reaffirming its support as global attention remains focused on the region’s longstanding disputes.
