Pakistan Voices Support for Gaza Ceasefire, Urges Swift Implementation

Islamabad: Pakistan has expressed its support for the recently brokered ceasefire in Gaza, urging for its immediate and complete execution. The call for peace comes amidst ongoing tensions in the region.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan emphasized the importance of the truce, expressing hope that it would evolve into a permanent ceasefire and facilitate increased humanitarian aid. The spokesperson highlighted the severe impact of the conflict, noting the significant loss of life, destruction of property, and displacement of Palestinian civilians due to actions by Israeli forces.

Khan underscored the destabilizing effects of what he described as Israel’s expansionist policies in the region. He reiterated Pakistan’s stance on a resolution to the Palestinian issue, advocating for a just and comprehensive settlement. This includes the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state based on pre-June 1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

The statement reflects Pakistan’s long-standing position on the conflict and its call for international efforts to address the humanitarian needs and political aspirations of the Palestinian people.
